About

Welcome! I am Megan Greenlee Mapes, RD, CDN, CSP, and Rochester area native. I started my career at one end of the nutrition spectrum as a pastry chef and graduated with an Associate’s of Applied Science from Paul Smith’s College. I then transferred to the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) as I became fascinated with the science behind food. I graduated from RIT with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition Management and completed my dietetic internship at the West Virginia University Medical Center at Ruby Memorial Hospital in 2016. I then returned to Rochester, NY and worked as a long term care and neurobehavioral dietitian as well as a pediatric outpatient dietitian for Rochester Regional Health. After 3 years with RRH, I jumped at the opportunity to join the Pediatric Advanced Nutrition Support clinic at Golisano Children’s Hospital and fell in love with the pediatric world. I moved to private practice in 2023 and I am proud to have had the privilege of helping hundreds of families over my nearly decade as a registered dietitian.
With information coming at parents and teens from countless directions, especially social media, it is hard to tell what’s rooted in scientific evidence and what is just opinion or marketing. My goal is creating Pediatric Nutrition Center of Western New York was to provide families with factual, evidenced-based information and insight into best practices for raising healthy children. I wanted a judgement free space where caregivers could come to learn and grow confident in their ability to feed their children without guilt or fear. There is more than enough “parent shame” in the world today and Pediatric Nutrition Center of Western New York is here to help support caregivers with science and compassion.
Take the first step toward expert pediatric nutrition care today.
